How to create an llms.txt file

Enter your site or project name. It becomes the file's only top-level heading.
Write a one or two sentence summary of what the site offers and who it is for.
Add your key pages. Give each a title, its full URL, and a short note on what it covers. Pages that share a section name are grouped under one heading.
Download the file and upload it to the root of your domain so it loads at /llms.txt.

The llms.txt format

The llmstxt.org proposal asks for a title, an optional summary in a block quote, and then sections of Markdown links, each with an optional description after a colon:

What is llms.txt?

llms.txt is a proposed standard: a Markdown file at the root of your site that gives AI models a short description of the site and a curated list of links to its most useful pages. The format is described at llmstxt.org.

Where does the llms.txt file go?

At the root of your domain, so it loads at yoursite.com/llms.txt. Serve it as plain text or Markdown.

Does llms.txt help Google rankings?

No. Google has said it does not use llms.txt for Search. Some AI assistants and developer tools read it when they are pointed at a site, so treat it as a low-cost convenience for those systems rather than a ranking factor.

What is the difference between llms.txt and robots.txt?

robots.txt tells crawlers which URLs they may fetch. llms.txt does not control access; it is a reading list that points a model at the pages you most want it to use.

Which pages should I list?

The pages a newcomer would need to understand what you do: product or service pages, pricing, documentation, and your best guides. Keep it short and curated. A full URL dump belongs in sitemap.xml.

Does this tool store what I type?

No. The file is built in your browser. Nothing you enter is sent to Seology.
